The NLC Commonwealth Forum Visit to Malta

The purpose of the NLC Commonwealth Forum Delegation to Malta was to help develop greater understanding, assist in building, developing and promoting positive, practical relationships among the people of the UK and Malta, with particular attention to Brexit and the implications for Trade and bilateral relations. Malta is a key player in the EU and the Commonwealth, Malta was the “Chair in office of the Commonwealth”, following a wonderful & very successful CHOGM in 2015. Malta assumed the EU Presidency, in January 2017, for a crucial six months, and included Brexit negotiations. This visit provided an opportunity for opinion formers, from the UK & Malta, to meet in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Valletta, enabling NLC Commonwealth Forum members to also see the beauty and history of Malta.
