Richard Hamilton: Experiences as a Journalist and Writer in Morocco
Ahead of its visit to Morocco in October 2023, the NLC European Forum is organising a drinks reception followed by a talk with the journalist and writer Richard Hamilton who will discuss – together with photos - his experiences as BBC correspondent and writer in Morocco.
NLC member Richard was the BBC's North Africa correspondent based in Rabat in 2006-2007 and currently works for BBC World Service radio. Richard is also the author of two books: "The Last Storytellers: Tales from the Heart of Morocco" and "Tangier: From the Romans to the Rolling Stones." More information about Richard can be found on his website: https://www.richard-hamilton.com/.
NLC members will also have an opportunity to meet members of the European Forum’s Morocco Visit Planning Group and get an update on the visit.
The evening will be chaired by NLC member Omar Oualili. The cost of the event is £15 per person, which includes a wine reception from 6:30 to 7:00 pm in the Lady Violet Room and is payable via the NLC website or by calling the NLC (BMS members can book via the BMS website)
Joint NLC European Forum - British Moroccan Society Event: Moroccan Wine Tasting
Ahead of the the NLC European Forum visit to Morocco in 2023, we would like to invite you to join members of the British Moroccan Society to explore the taste of Moroccan wine whilst overlooking the Thames.
Morocco is considered to have the best natural potential for producing quality wines, due to its high mountains and the cooling influence of the Atlantic, as these factors offset the risk of having too hot vineyards.
Tickets are £30.00 and include a tasting of the following:
●Guerrouaine Blanc Les Trois Domaines Les Celliers De Meknes 2020 (White)
●Volubia Gris La Zouina 2020 (Rosé)
●Syrah du Maroc 'Tandem' Alain Graillot et Thalvin 2019 (Red)
Tickets can be booked here.
