Sir Richard Gozney: “Nearly 40 Years of helping to persuade Autocrats and Democrats”
The NLC Commonwealth Forum is delighted to announce that Sir Richard Gozney will be speaking on “Nearly 40 Years of helping to persuade Autocrats and Democrats” on Monday 22 November 2021, 7 - 8 pm, in the Lady Violet Room, National Liberal Club.
Sir Richard Gozney KCMG CVO KStJ was governor and commander in chief of Bermuda (2007 to 2012) and served as the Lieutenant Governor of the Isle of Man (May 2016 to August 2021).
Sir Richard has a distinguished diplomatic career, with postings within the FCO, including Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
Sir Richard was the former High Commissioner to Swaziland, Ambassador to Indonesia and High Commissioner to Nigeria.
The evening will be chaired by NLC Commonwealth Forum President, Lord David Chidgey.
Following the meeting the Bar and dining room are available (for dinner in the dining room please book directly with the dining room) .

Baroness Parminter on Climate Change and Biodiversity: 2021 a Year of Opportunity
The NLC Commonwealth Forum and European Forum are delighted to announce that the new Chair of the House of Lords Select Committee on the Environment and Climate Change, Baroness Kate Parminter has agreed to give a Zoom talk on the challenges facing the global community on climate change.
Ahead of the COP26 (The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, in Glasgow, 1 to 12 November 2021) and the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15 in Kunming, China, 11-24 October 2021), which provides the global community with further opportunities to galvanize efforts, at all levels to build a better future in harmony with nature, focusing on the upcoming challenges in ensuring global consensus on carbon reduction goals and biodiversity protection.
Baroness Kate Parminter will lead a discussion on what can be achieved, followed by a Question and Answer session.
