NLC European Forum Event: Moroccan Spirit Tasting

The National Liberal Club European Forum are proud to host a tasting of Moroccan Spirits on the 29th of November at 6:30pm at the NLC.

As part of the our Post-Morocco NLC Visit series of events, we are delighted to invite you to join an exclusive tasting of Sahara, a premium Moroccan spirit drink made from figs. On Wednesday 29 November at 18:30, we will welcome you the Moroccan way into the magical world of Sahara.

The evening will flow as follow:

European Forum Event: Scottish Adventurer Alice Morrison: Walking with Nomads

National Liberal Club Commonwealth Forum Event:

Scottish adventurer Alice Morrison comes to the National Liberal Club to talk about her new book Walking with Nomads

In 2019 Alice set off to walk across Morocco and the Sahara with her six camels and three Amazigh guides. Their epic journey took 7 ½ months and they covered over 4000km. It was an expedition full of discoveries from a lost city to dinosaur footprints. The team dodged landmines and quicksands and did the final part of their trek under the shadow of the Coronavirus. Throughout, they were welcomed and supported by the nomads of the mountains and the desert and witnessed how life for this oldest of societies is changing forever as climate change and the modern world encroach.

We are delighted that Alice will be coming from her home in the Atlas Mountains to the National Liberal Club on 5th April to talk about this adventure, which inspired her latest book, Walking with Nomads

It was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Edward Stanford Travel Book of the Year award.

The event will be chaired by Mike Wood, an NLC member and chair of the British-Moroccan Society. Richard Kirker will deliver a vote of thanks on behalf of the European Forum.

Ahead of the talk in the Lady Violet Room, there will be a drinks reception in the Smoking Room from 6:30-7:00pm.

The cost is £15
